Callicore Hystapes

This Callicore Hystapes (size 16) is adorned in UV-protected, anti-reflective Art Glass and Sterling Silver. Our local glass artisan and goldsmith spent hours crafting this piece, carefully adapting to the unique shape of this wing. As a result, no traditional casting molds were used - only handcrafted techniques. It is truly a labor of love and a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry!

The Callicore hystaspes butterfly, native to the rainforest of Peru, may be small in size, but it’s certainly not lacking in presence. With vibrant pink and blue bands on its top wings, set against a brown background, it stands out in a way that feels effortless: a quiet beauty that doesn’t need to shout to be noticed.

This butterfly is usually encountered alone, flying solo through its habitat. It’s quick and purposeful, with powerful, rapid flights that cover short distances. It doesn’t wander aimlessly: instead, it moves with intent, always knowing where it’s going. Despite its solitary nature, the Callicore hystaspes doesn’t shy away from the presence of humans. It’s often found resting in close proximity to man-made structures, like boats, jetties, or wooden buildings, as if it enjoys the comfort of familiar spaces.
